The Christmas season is a time of peace, joy, and gathering with loved ones. This year, we, the scouts, decided to spend the holidays a little differently – together, with the Bethlehem light, good deeds, and unforgettable adventures.
We started on Saturday morning at Kunovský Majer. We were greeted by a light frost, which didn’t discourage us. The workshop focused on fish processing was a challenge for many, but together we learned new skills and pushed our limits. Meanwhile, one of our patrols set off on an important mission – to bring the Bethlehem light, a symbol of peace and hope.
We all gathered at the square in Senica, full of anticipation. With respect, we passed the Bethlehem light on to our scout brothers and sisters. Our beacon had prepared an adventurous journey for us, full of challenges and tasks. Together, we solved various tasks that tested our skills, cooperation, and creativity. At the end, we faced a riddle, which we joyfully solved, and our reward was not only the feeling of success but also the strengthening of our friendships.
As it began to get dark, we headed into the forest to decorate a tree for the animals. Gifts for our forest friends were added to the branches of the tree—lard feeders, sunflower seeds, carrots, and other treats. The sight of the decorated tree brought smiles to our faces and reminded us that joy and love belong not only among people but also in nature.
We ended the evening at the Elementary Art School in Cerová. The room was filled with the aroma of punch and homemade cakes that the scouts brought. The atmosphere was enhanced by Christmas songs played by Trysko. The highlight of the evening was the awarding of points for the entire semester. Excitement and tension grew as we found out who won the legendary Excalibur. For the cubs, the honor went to Vlčík, and for the scouts, it was Ananás who triumphed. Their success was also thanks to the help of the fearless dragon Dauthir, who helped decide crucial tasks. At the end, we exchanged small gifts we had prepared for each other. Each gift was a token of love and friendship, filling the room with joyful energy.
On Sunday, we continued spreading the Bethlehem Light. Our patrols brought this symbol of peace to the Evangelical churches in Hlboké and Myjava, to the Roman Catholic church in Senica, and to other places.
Monday will be no exception. The light will continue its journey to municipal institutions, such as the city and state police, the city hall, the senior home, and the polyclinic in Senica.
These Scout Christmases were unforgettable for us. They were full of laughter, cooperation, and moments that brought us together. Together, we created beautiful memories and proved that the true essence of Christmas lies in giving joy and love.
